GROUP CLASSES: 

Puppy Agility

Age Requirement: 4 months or older

Pre-requisites: Puppy Kindergarten

Duration: 6 weeks

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: $180

Class Description:

This class is designed for puppies at least 4 months of age, who have completed the Puppy Kindergarten class. This class is for those with goals of competing in Agility once the puppy is of age! In this class, teams will build on the basic obedience & life skills learned in Puppy Kindergarten and begin the flatwork necessary to start learning Agility skills. Age-appropriate skills from the Foundation Agility class will also be introduced. 

This class is a pre-requisite for Foundation Agility 2.

Foundation Agility

Age Requirement: 6 months or older

Pre-requisites: Puppy Kindergarten OR Basic Manners

Duration: 6 weeks

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour

Class Description:

The skills learned in Foundation Agility are the building blocks to every aspect of Dog Agility. In this class, you will learn teamwork, body awareness skills, confidence building, body language & handling and introductory skills for the different obstacles in agility. The Foundation Agility class provides the skills needed to ensure the sport is fun and safe for both you and your dog since Agility is a sport that is very physically demanding on the dog’s part. If you have goals of competing in Agility trials with your dog, this is the first Agility class to begin with! 

 

This class is a pre-requisite for Foundation Agility 2.

 

Foundation Agility 2: Obstacles

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Foundation Agility

Duration: 6 weeks

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: $180

Class Description:

In Foundation Agility 2, the focus will be learning how to teach your dog to safely perform the different obstacles in Agility. This class covers jumping skills, teaching the contact obstacles, beginning weave pole training and building on the foundation skills of handling. This is an on-going class. Students must be approved by the instructor to move on to the next level.

This class is a pre-requisite for Sequencing.

 

Sequencing

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Foundation Agility 2

Duration: 6 weeks or Weekly Drop In

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: 6 weeks-$180, Drop In-$35

Class Description:

In Sequencing, you will learn how to sequence obstacles together. This class covers learning and applying foundational handling skills to simple sequences as well as improving individual obstacle performance.

Students must be approved by the instructor to move on to the next level.

This class is a pre-requisite for Beginner Agility.

 

Novice Agility

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Sequencing

Duration: 6 weeks or Weekly Drop In

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: 6 weeks-$180, Drop In-$35

Class Description:

In Novice Agility, you will learn how to walk and perform longer sequences. This class covers learning how to develop a course walking strategy, learning more handling skills and proofing obstacle performance. This class is appropriate for dogs preparing to compete in Novice or Starters Agility.

Students must be approved by the instructor to move on to the next level.

This class is a pre-requisite for Intermediate Agility.

 

Intermediate Agility

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Beginning Agility 

Duration:  6 weeks or Weekly Drop In

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: 6 weeks-$180, Drop In-$35

Class Description:

In Intermediate Agility, you will practice running Novice and Open level sequences and courses. We will discuss course walking strategies, handling options, choosing the best path and cover any questions needed for competition. This class is for dogs that are prepared to or are already competing at the Novice and/or Open level.

Students must be approved by the instructor to move on to the next level.

This class is a pre-requisite for Masters Agility.

 

Masters Agility

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Intermediate Agility                    

Duration: 6 weeks or Weekly Drop In

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: 6 weeks-$180, Drop In-$35

Class Description:

In Masters Agility, you will practice running Excellent/Masters level sequences and full courses. We will discuss course walking strategies, handling options, choosing the best path for you and your dog. This class is for dogs that are already competing at the Excellent/Masters level.

International Agility

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Intermediate Agility                    

Duration: 6 weeks or Weekly Drop In

Capacity: 2-3 students-40 min class, 4-6 students-1 hour 

Cost: 6 weeks-$180, Drop In-$35

Class Description:

In International Agility, the focus will be working on international flair skills that are necessary for premier and biathlon style events. Emphasis will be on improving and practicing verbals with threadles, backsides, wraps, layering, and more difficult weave pole entries as well as course analyzing and comparing/contrasting handling options to determine the best path for you and your dog. This class is for dogs that are already competing at the Excellent/Masters level.

Agility Run Throughs

Age Requirement: 12 months or older

Pre-requisites: Sequencing Agility or higher- dogs must be able to perform full height contact equipment in sequence in order to participate.       

Description: 

In Agility Run Throughs, several different sequences of varying length & difficulty will be available for teams to train on. Teams will choose which sequence they'd like to try, then walk said sequence, then run in their jump heights. Teams will get to do 2-4 sequences per run through session, depending on the length and number of dogs present. Run throughs are designed for teams who are training/competing at the AKC Novice-Master level, though they can definitely be used by teams at a lower level for exposure to new dogs and extra practice! If you're unsure about run throughs being a good fit for you and your dog, please ask us!

 

Instruction is optional for teams at the Novice level and above. Teams that are  not yet running full courses (Sequencing level) require instruction to participate.
